MIP Technologies produces selective sorbents with synthetic recognition sites for particular analytes or analyte 'classes' of interest. These can be used for extraction of a wide range of pharmaceutical, therapeutic and recreational drugs, as well as for banned substances, environmental pollutants and agriculural ‘residues’

Our MIP sorbents meet the demanding high-throughput analysis requirements of today's drugs. Tailor-made to individual and specific requirements, the characteristics of the MIP sorbent produced are exploited to selectively and reproducibly extract target analytes, or a group of analytes, resulting in clean extracts. This is of particular importance for today's highly potent drugs where therapeutic doses are at ultra low concentrations, or in bioanalysis where development of methods for drugs and their metabolites is a time-consuming and often costly procedure. Using specific MIPs, procedures can be streamlined and specific extraction procedures developed.

Custom-made sorbents are developed in three steps:

Step 1 Screening:

Following theoretical evaluation of the feasibility of producing a suitable MIP, different polymerisation conditions are evaluated using our combinatorial screening procedure.

If a selective MIP is successfully developed, preliminary loading, washing and elution conditions of the SPE-procedure are determined. At this point these conditions can be transferred to the customer as a starting point for developing an SPE-procedure for the matrix of interest, or MIP Technologies can further optimise the SPE under the ‘field’ conditions.

Step 2 Evaluation:

The most selective MIP will be delivered in x number of cartridges in your requested format for further evaluation for your intended application.

Turn-around time for steps 1 and 2 is typically 4+4 months, but may be shorter where hits against existing MIP phases are obtained.

Step 3 Production:

Following positive feedback, production scale-up of the MIP will begin. All SupelMIP™ cartridges, plates or bulk material are supplied with a Quality Assurance report. This report containes a rigorous QC analysis performed on the MIP sorbent and the final packed columns.
